Shared Paths

Where Our Story Meets Your Journey

In 2023, Malika Journeys began with a quiet instinct, no detailed plan, just a feeling worth following. What started simply has grown into something deeply meaningful, shaped by the people who have traveled together, shared stories, and formed genuine connections along the way.

At its core is a personal vision: to experience India not as a tourist, but through a local lens. A country of contrasts, beauty and complexity, simplicity and luxury, meant to be felt in its fullness with openness and curiosity.

Each journey is designed to be slow and intentional. Not a checklist, but an unfolding where there is time to pause, connect, and truly be present. From the vibrant streets of Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra to Varanasi, Rishikesh, Nepal, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, every journey has carried its own rhythm, with moments of rest woven in, including time at a serene Ayurveda retreat.

But more than the places, it is the shared moments that stay, the conversations, the laughter, the unexpected connections.

A special part of this journey has also been collaborating with friends to co-create experiences for their communities. From yoga studios to photographers, these partnerships bring a unique depth to each tour, blending travel with their individual gifts to create something both meaningful and personal.

Malika Journeys continues to evolve with every group and every story carried home, grounded in the same intention it began with: to create thoughtful, personal, and deeply rooted travel experiences.

My time in India was truly unforgettable. I really did not have expectations of how each day of the itinerary would unfold. I had seen pictures of vehicles, people, animals all going “somewhere” together, yet in different directions. I saw this and also experienced a journey filled with beauty, spirituality and connection. This is all THANKS to our wonderful leader, organizer and super fun person, Malika Rajan. She secured our admission to all “not to be missed tourist” sights and also ensured we got a feel and sense of day to day life in the cities and communities.

My favorite experiences were sitting front row at the mesmerising Aarti ceremony on the banks of the Ganges River, where the air glowed with firelight and devotion and watching daily life along the River. Of course, the stunning Hawa Mahal in Jaipur,  the awe-inspiring Taj Mahal in Agra, and the 9 Petal Lotus Temple in New Delhi were impressive glimpses into India’s rich history. I could go on – each of the 18 days filled with adventure.

I am so grateful for the colors, the culture, and the warmth I found in India.  Mostly I am Grateful that our group was guided by Malika’s Journeys and Malika Rajan. To me, India seems a country where planning always involves being flexible (like travel in general). Malika understands how this works and is able to pivot, adjust and tweak our itinerary to suit the situation. We had a lot of moving parts, many hotels, at least 6 types of transportation and it all flowed so smoothly. Thanks Malika. I would highly recommend working with Malika & Malika Journeys for your Indian Adventure. I hope to visit another part of the country with Malika in the future.
